Indian Workers Welfare Center - Kuwait

Following are the free welfare services provided at the Indian Workers Welfare Center located at the Embassy of India:

(i) 24x7 Helpline for Domestic Workers: Accessible by toll free telephone no. 25674163 from anywhere in Kuwait, it provides information and advice exclusively to Indian domestic sector workers (Visa No. 20) as regards their grievances, immigration and other matters.

(ii) Help Desk: It offers guidance to Indian nationals on routine immigration, employment, legal, and other issues (Embassy premises; 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM, Sunday to Thursday);

(iii) Labour Complaints Desk: It registers labour complaints and provides grievance redressal service to Indian workers (Embassy premises; 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM, Sunday to Thursday);

(iv) Shelters: For female and male domestic workers in distress;

(v) Legal Advice Clinic: Provides free legal advice to Indian nationals (Embassy premises; Kuwaiti lawyers 3 PM to 5 PM, Monday to Thursday; Indian lawyers 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday); and

(vi) Attestation of Work Contracts: Private sector worker (Visa No. 18) contracts are accepted at the Embassy; 9 AM to 1 PM; Sunday to Thursday; Domestic sector worker (Visa No. 20) contracts are accepted at Kuwait Union of Domestic Labour Offices (KUDLO), Hawally, Al-Othman Street, Kurd Roundabout, Al-Abraj Complex, Office No. 9, Mezzanine Floor; 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturday to Thursday; 5 PM to 9 PM on Friday.

My daughter’s grand marriage – a glance…

M.A.M. Mohamed Shahira Banu married to A. Mohamed Al-Fahad Maricar, (B.E.,), S/o S.M. Ameerudeen Maricar, Karaikal on Thursday, the 01st July, 2010 at Shamira Mahal, Karaikal.

Ceremony started with the recitation of holy and noble Quran with its translation in Tamil by L. Aisha Siddika, D/o Haji. M.Y. Lukman Maricar. Br. N.A.M. Abdul Aleem, President, TMCA – Kuwait welcomed all the invitees and special guests. Felicitation address was delivered by Prof. Moulvi Abdul Salam Dawoodi, Secretary – Religious Wing, TMCA-Kuwait.

Br. Abdul Kader (Delhi Basha) Ex-President and Custodian Committee member, Br. Jayankondan A. Abdul Majeed, Ex-General Secretary and Custodian Committee member, Br. Alwany Abdul Razack, Deputy General Secretary, Br. M.I. Sowkath Ali, Ex-Vice President, Virudhachalam Br. Akbar Ex. Joint Secretary and Br. Mohamed Ismail, Joint Secretary and Thiru V.K. Ganapathi, B.E., Member of Legislative Assembly and Town Kazi Mohamed Maricar are special guests who are all adorned this great event.

Co-inciding this event, in order to highlight importance of Education, Cash reward have been awarded by Br. S.M. Arif Marical to the three SSLC – 2009/2010 meritorious students of Muslim Educational Society, Karaikal who have secured the first three positions, which are as follows:

School First : Fazila Nasreen - Rs.1000/-
School Second : Mohamed Marjana - Rs.750/-
School Third : Rashida Farveen - Rs.500/-

In addition to a special donation of Rs.2000/- to the School as a token of appreciation and applause. Br. Ameerudeen Maricar has handed over a special contribution of Rs.500/- to all Masjid in Karaikal as Rs.500/- each.

The whole function was arranged and mastered by Br. S.M. Ameerudeen Maricar, Br. M. Naina Mohamed and Br. S.M. Arif Maricar. Around 2000 invitees were attended and it was a great honour for the TMCA members to be part of this grand event.

FIMA organized reception to American Federation of Muslim from Indian origin delegates.

Federation of Indian Muslim association (FIMA Kuwait) gives a rousing welcome on 14/07/2010 to the representatives from American Federation of Muslim from Indian origin (AFMI). Indian ambassador to Kuwait Sri Ajai Malhotra inaugurated the reception organized by FIMA. FIMA president Siddiq Valiyakath presided the function.AFMI founder Dr Abdul Rahman Nakadar, AFMI trustee Dr Shakir Mughi, Ali Qureshi, Masood Kadiri and Dr Naimuddeen were among the delegates arrived from US.
