Indian scientist bags Scientific Achievement Award from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research

Indian scientist Dr S Neelamani bags the prestigious Scientific Achievement Award with No. 1 Rank from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). The award was presented to Dr. S. Neelamani by the Minister for Higher Education for Kuwait Dr Mudhi Al-Humoud on Monday June 7th in a colourful function held at KISR. Award was given to top 20 scientists selected from a panel of about 200 scientists from KISR for their contribution for the Research and Development performance, innovation, publications at reputed international journals and conferences and manpower training in the area of scientific research.

Dr. S. Neelamani hails from Chennai, India is working as a senior research scientist with KISR since the year 2003. He completed his Masters degree from IIT Kharagpur and Doctor of Philosophy in Ocean Engineering from IIT Madras. Dr Neelamani has published many scientific research papers in Indian and International journals, has worked with many key projects in the state of Kuwait including coastline evaluation and A Submarine Pipeline Type Seawater Intake Structure at Subiya Power Plant.

2. ENGINEER INSTRUMENT SYSTEM’S ANALYST - (Salary KD 775)
BE Instrument / Electronic Engr. with min. 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Experience in installation, repair and maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, metering, microprocessor based and hydraulic instruments and control. Exp. on at least two DCS systems (Foxboro, Honeywell, Emerson or similar) Experience in ESD (Hima, ICS Triplex), PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) & F&G systems (ICS Triplex, GE Fanuc). Handling networking of different systems, report the debug error code of system. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

3. SUPERVISOR INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL - (Salary KD 655)
Dip in Instrumentation / Electronic Engr. with min. 10 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Skill to check, calibrate and repair pneumatic , hydraulic & electronic instruments and protective interlocks. Experience in PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), ESD systems (HIMA, Allen Bradley, ICS triplex) and DCS (Rosemount RS-3, Foxboro IAS, Honeywell). Experience in protective system, start up/shut down sequences, vibration and governing systems of gas turbines such as interlock equipments. Identifying and requesting maint. supplies (spares, tools, manpower etc.,).

4. SUPERVISOR MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE - (Salary KD 605)
Dipl in Mech Engr. with min. 12 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Knowledge in troubleshooting & preventive maintenance, breakdown maint. and shutdown of pumps, gas compressors, gas turbines, gas & diesel engines, valves, static equipments (heat exchangers, pipes, vessels) & workshop activities. Compile and maintain technical reports including equipment history, failure, routine & daily preventive maintenance checks, performance reports and scheduling techniques. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage

5. SUPERVISOR ELECTRICAL - (Salary KD 605)
Dipl in Electrical with min. 10 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Experience in repair and maintenance of cabling and electrical equipments, Directs the work of all personnel in his area of responsibility, Implements equipment monitoring programme. Capable of problem solving and the review of operating logs, Prepare & maintain technical reports (equipment history, failure, trend, routine & PM) Administers requesting maint. Supplies (spares, tools, manpower etc.,). Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

6. SAFETY OFFICERS - (Salary KD 605)
Any Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety with min. 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Directs the work of personnel in his charge and maintains list of safety equipments. Prepares accident, incident, near miss and investigation reports. Generate a safety management system, ensures personnel's adherence to safe working. Maintenance good housekeeping. Assists in obtaining work permits (hold, cold, confined space, excavation etc.,) Familiar with fire and other emergency situation and evacuation. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

7. Sr. MECHANIC / CHARGE HAND MECHANIC / MECHANIC / MECHANIC – GRP. - (Salary KD 300 - 400)
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical with min. 06 to 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Preventive maintenance planning and execution for Process plants and static equipments (vessels, coolers, heat exchangers etc.). Collecting and mapping mechanical equipment details, engineering drawings, catalogues, and preventive maintenance data from manuals to Maintenance. Coordinates with Stores, Maint. Supervisors, Workshop in terms of materials/spare supply and progress follow-up for survey related activities. Preparation of maintenance reports. Skilled in use of measuring tools (British & Metric) and instruments (e.g. micrometers, vernier calipers etc.,). Or Experience in repair of GRP pipes up to 24" dia. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

8. DIESEL MECHANIC - (Salary KD 300 )
ITI in Mechanical with min. 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Performs maintenance repair and overhaul of diesel machinery, calibration of injection pumps and turbines, compressors & engine governing system. Identifying required maintenance supplies, tools, spare parts, material etc., Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

9. . MECHANICAL FITTER - (Salary KD 210 )
ITI in Mechanical with min. 10 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Assists in Maintenance repairs, cleaning and overhaul of mechanical equipment (heat exchanges, coolers, valves, piping, vessels etc.,) including dismantling, cleaning and assembling, staging, stripping and adjusting equipment / machinery, pipe installation and gasket fittings.

10. SR. INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN / INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN - (Salary KD 450 )
Diploma / ITI in Instrumentation with min. 06 to 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Maintenance planning of PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), ESD systems (HIMA, Allen Bradley, ICS triplex) and DCS (Rosemount RS-3, Foxboro IAS, Honeywell). Experience in anti surge system, vibration system (Bently Nevada), variable speed drives, protection systems, start up/shut down sequences vibration & governing systm. Performing fitting, bench fitting and tube bending duties for installation, removal, repair and maintenance of a full range of instruments and ancillary equipment. Capable of using and converting standard units (psi, Hg, Inches, W.G, C, F, Metric, Bars etc.,) and tools like manometers, dead weight testers, comparators, oil bath etc. Overhaul of control valves and regulators.

16. SR. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN / ELECTRICIAN - (Salary KD 300 - 400)
Diploma / ITI in Electrical with min. 06 to 10 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Experience in maintenance and repair of electrical equipment & electrical HT< networks. Assist in the diagnosis of electrical problems. Performs all the P M work. Skill to use hand tools, power tools and precision tools.

17. ELECTRICAL FITTER - (Salary KD 210 )
ITI in Instrumentation with min. 08 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Dismantle, overhaul, re-assemble and align the motors of different sizes and horsepower in the fields and workshop. Knowledge of bearing (Vertical and Horizontal motors).

18. CABLE JOINTER MATE - (Salary KD 180 )
School Education with min. 06 yrs. Maintenance Exp. In Oil Field / Oil & Gas / Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants. Assists in finding cable-router, locating and repairing faults. Aware of safety & Precaution for working on HT cable. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

17. DRAFTSMAN ( Salary KD 350)
DIP/ITI in Draftsman Electrical with min 7yrs of Exp in Maintain & updates all drawings pertaining to the Electrical Distribution/ Instrumentation & control sysyems. And also should have knowledge in cable layout drawings. Knowledge in AutoCAD softwares. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

19. TECHNICIAL ASSTISTANT ( Salary KD 300)
DIP in Computer with Assist in preparation of Budget proposals, fixed asset request, invoice checking preparing inventory of furniture, office equipment & timesheets. Knowledge in MS – OFFICE, MS-project, MS-Access (database) & MS-outlook. Knowledge in Arabic will be an added advantage. Having valid Kuwaiti driving license is an added advantage.

20. AUTO ELECTRICIAN ( Salary KD 250)
ITI in Auto Electrician with min 8 yrs of exp in Repairs high voltage gas engine / flare ignition system, lead acid and nickel iron batteries, diesel driven emergency generators. Assists in the diagnosis of mechanical / auto electrical problems. Able to read engineering drawings. Kuwaiti driving lic is an added advantage.

IDB offers interest-free loan to Muslims for medical, engg courses

Patna: Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Jeddah has invited applications for scholarship cum interest-free education loan from meritorious but financially needy Indian Muslim students to help them to pursue professional courses such as Medical and Engineering.
This loan is for those students who have taken admission or intend to in academic year 2010-2011 in the first year of any degree courses of Medicine and Engineering including Homeopathy, Unani, Ayurvedic, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Law.
To get this loan it is necessary that aspirants should have obtained 60% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics in 10th class examination.
The applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee and selected ones will be provided with the cost of living, clothing, books, tuition fees and medical expenses during the courses.
It is to be noted here that as it is an interest-free loan, recipients, therefore, will have to refund the amounts in easy installments after they settle down in profession. So that others can get benefit to enjoy the same educational opportunity.
Islamic Development Bank started this program in 1983 to promote professional education among Muslim community in various countries including India. In India this program is operated and monitored through Delhi based NGO Students Islamic Trust (SIT). So far 1163 students completed their courses and settled down in their professions with the help IDB loan. At present there are 645 students who are getting benefits from it and pursuing professional studies.
Talking to TwoCircles.net from Delhi, Mohammad Saifullah Rizwan, Executive Secretary of SIT, said: “It is a golden opportunity for the talented Muslim students who are unable to do professional courses due to financial problem. The students who passed matriculation with minimum 60% marks and have desire to go in professional fields should get benefit from this program.”
On number of students who will be selected this year he said: “We will select 250 students through interview. The Selection committee formed for this purpose will interview the applicants in almost all the states, then we will issue the list of selected students.”
Asked about amount that will be given to the selected students he told: “Each student of Medical is given Rs.45000/ and student of Engineering is given Rs. 40000/ per month till they complete the courses.
“They will have to return the amounts they receive from IDB after the completion of courses or after they get settlement in their profession so that it can pave the way for other students belonging to the same category and who want to do similar courses” he added.
The last date for submission of application is 25th August 2010. Application forms can be downloaded from SIT website http://www.sit- india.org/ scholarship. html or it can be obtained from SIT office.

பரங்கிப்பேட்டை ஐஎன்டிஜே நிகழ்ச்சியில் கடந்த 23-05-2010 அன்று இந்திய தவ்ஹீத் ஜமாஅத் பரங்கிப்பேட்டை கிளை சார்பாக மாபெரும் மார்க்க விளக்க பொதுக் கூட்டம் சின்னக் கடை வாத்தியாப் பள்ளித் தெருவில் நடைபெற்றது.

கூட்டத்திற்கு மாவட்டத் தலைவர் லுக்மான் தலைமை வகித்தார். மாநில தொண்டரணி செயலாளர் பண்ருட்டி யூனுஸ் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார். மாநில நிர்வாகிகளான எஸ்.எம். சையத் இக்பால், முஹம்மது ஷிப்லி, மாவட்ட துணைத் தலைவர் ஹமீது கவுஸ் ஆகியோர் முன்னிலை வகித்தனர்.

இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் டாக்டர் அப்துல்லாஹ் "ஆறு நம்பிக்கையும், ஐந்து கடமைகளும்' என்ற தலைப்பிலும், மாவட்டப் பேச்சாளர் மவ்லவி ஏ.கே. ஷிகாபுதீன் "ஒற்றுமை' என்றதலைப்பிலும், தலைவர் எஸ்.எம். பாக்கர் "இஸ்லாமும் இன்றைய இளைஞர்களும்' என்ற தலைப்பிலும், பண்ருட்டி இமாம் முஹம்மது ஷகீர் "இதுதான் இஸ்லாம்' என்ற தலைப்பிலும் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்கள்.

தலைவர் எஸ்.எம். பாக்கர் பேசுகையில், ""இன்றைய இஸ்லாமிய இளைஞர்களின் நிலை பற்றியும், அவர்களின் சிந்தனையை தூண்டும் வகையில் குர்ஆன் கூறும் குகைத் தோழர்களின் வரலாற்றையும் மேற் கோள் காட்டிப் பேசினார். நபித் தோழர்களில் செல்வந்தர்களாக இருந்த பலர் மரணிக்கும் தருவாயில் கஃபன் துணி கூட போதுமானதாக இல்லாத நிலையில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அந்த அளவிற்கு அவர்கள் மார்க்கத்திற்காக தங்களை அர்ப்பணித்தார்கள்.

இன்று இஸ்லாமிய இளைஞர்களில் பலர் பெண்களுக்கு இணையாக தொலைக்காட்சி, சினிமா மோகத்தில் மூழ்கி நேரத்தையும், காலத்தையும் வீணடித்து தங்களது வாழ்க்கையை தொலைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். பெற்றோர்களைப் பேணும் விஷயத்திலும் இஸ்லாம் கூறும் நெறிமுறைகளை பின்பற்றுவதில்லை. உங்கள் பெற் றோரை "ச்சீ' என்று கூட சொல்லாதீர்கள் என்று அல்லாஹ் கூறுகி றான். ஆனால் பெற்றோரை கொடுமைப் படுத்துவது, அவர்களைக் கவனிக்காமல் தனித்து விடுவது என பெற்றோரின் அருமை தெரியாமல், அவர்களை பராமரிக்காமல் இருப்பதைப் பார்க்கிறோம்.

தவ்ஹீத் பேசும் சகோதரர்கள் கூட ஸுப்ஹு தொழுகையைப் பேணுவதில்லை என்று குறிப்பிட்டு தொழுகையின் அவசியத்தையும், அதன் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்தும் விரிவாகப் பேசினார்.

இஸ்லாத்தில் ஈமானைக் குறிக்கும் ஆறு நம்பிக்கைகள் குறித்து விரிவாகப் பேசிய டாக்டர் அப்துல்லாஹ், ஐந்து கடமைகளைப் பற்றியும் விளக்கிப் பேசினார். குறிப்பாக தொழுகை குறித்துப் பேசுகையில், தொழுகையில் இந்த சமுதாயம் மிகவும் அலட்சியமாக இருக்கிறது. தந்தையைக் கொண்டு வந்து பள்ளி வாசலில் விடும் மகன் தொழாமல் வெளியே சென்று புகை பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பான். தந்தை தொழுகையில் ஈடுபட்டிருப்பார். இந் நிலையில், மகனை தொழுமாறு அந்தத் தந்தை அவனை அழைப்பதில்லை. மகன் சொர்க்கத் திற்கு செல்ல வேண்டுமென்றஆசை அவருக் கில்லை போல. இது போன்ற காட்சிகளை பார்க்க முடிகிறது.

தொழுகைக்கு அழைத்தால் நேரமில்லை என்ற கெட்ட வார்த்தையை அதிகமானோர் சொல்கின்றனர். இறைவன் கொடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில் நேரமில்லை என்றபொய்யைச் சொல்லுகின்றார்கள்.

ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் நான் தொழுகைக்குச் செல்லும்போது நபிகள் நாயகம் (ஸல்) அவர்களின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு ஞாபகத்திற்கு வரும். வீட்டு வாசலில் ஓடுகிற நீரோடையில் ஒரு மனிதன் ஐந்து முறை குளித் தால் அவன் எவ்வளவு தூய்மை அடைவானோ, அதைப் போன்று ஐவேளை தொழுதால் அவனுடைய உள்ளமும் தூய்மையடையும்'' என்ற நபிமொழியை சுட்டிக் காட்டினார் டாக்டர் அப்துல்லாஹ்.

தொடர்ந்து, ""இஸ்லாம் கூறும் ஏழை வரியான ஜக்காத்தை முறையா கக் கொடுத்தால் இந்த உலகத்தில் இருந்து வறுமையை விரட்டி விடலாம். ஏழைகளே இல்லாத நிலை உருவானால் அமைதியான வாழ்க்கைக்கு உத்தரவாதம் அளிக்கக் கூடிய இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சியை இந்தியாவில் கூட ஏற்படுத்தி விடலாம். இது தொடர்பாக நான் பேசி யதை பாரதீய ஜனதா கட்சியின் தலைவர் பொன் ராதா கிருஷ்ணன், "பெரி யார் தாசன் பேசுகிற மேடையில் இந்தியாவில் இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சி வேண்டுமென்று தீவிரவாதத்தைப் பரப்பி வருகிறார்' என்று விமர்சிக்கிறார்.

நான் கேட்கிறேன், உலகம் முழுவதும் இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சி வர இருக் கும் சமயத்தில் இந்தியாவில் இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சி ஏன் வரக் கூடாது? இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சியில் மட்டும் தான் அமைதி ஏற்படும். சகோதரத்தும் தழைத்தோங்கும். சாதீயக் கட்டுமானங்கள் தகர்த்தெறியப்படும். தீவிர வாதம் தடுக்கப்படும். மக்களுக்கு அமைதியான வாழ்வு கிடைக்கும்'' என்றவர், "நான் இஸ்லாத்தை ஏற்றதிலிருந்து இந்துத்துவாவினர் என் வீட் டிற்கு தொலைபேசியில் அடிக்கடி மிரட்டல் விடுத்து வந்தனர். இது குறித்து என் துணைவியார் என்னிடத்தில் சொன்னபோது, இதைக் கேட்க நாதியில்லை என்று எண்ண வேண்டாம். அவர்கள் பேசுவதை அல்லாஹ்வும் கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான் என்று சொன்னேன். அன்றிலிருந்து தொலைபேசி மிரட்டல்கள் வருவதில்லை. இது அல் லாஹ் எனக்களித்த வெகுமதி என்றே கருதுகிறேன். என்னைக் கண் காணிக்கிறேன் என்று சொன்னவர்கள் எல்லாம், சில தினங்களுக்குள் என்னை நேரில் வந்து சந்தித்தார்கள்.

தாஃவாவை பொறுத்தவரையில், பிற சமய மக்களிடத்திலே மார்க் கத்தை கொண்டு போய் சேர்க்கக் கூடிய பணியை இந்திய தவ்ஹீத் ஜமா அத் சிறந்த முறையில் செய்து வருகிறது. பிறசமய மக்களிடத்திலே உலகப் பொதுமறைதிருக்குர்ஆனை கொண்டுபோய் சேர்ப்பிக்கின்ற பணியை அவர்கள் செய்து வருகின்றனர். அதனால் தான் நான் இவர்களின் பின்னால் போக வேண்டியிருக்கிறது.

இஸ்லாமிய ஆட்சி தான் மனிதகுலத்திற்கு ஏற்றது. இஸ்லாமியச் சட்டங்கள் தான் மனித வாழ்க்கையின் அமைதிக்கு உத்தரவாதமளிக்க முடியும்'' என்றார் பெரியார் தாசன்.
