Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA), Kuwait. Office Bearers meeting with His Excellency Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India to Kuwait.




Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA) Office-bearers had an introductory official meeting with His Excellency Satish Chand Mehta, the new Ambassado of India to Kuwait, at his esteemed Office on 03rd August, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. to felicitate and convey on behalf of TMCA, our best wishes in his new mission in Kuwait. Born in Jodhpur in 1955, he completed his B.Com., studies and CA in Jaipur and joined IFS in 1983.

TMCA Executive Committee headed by its President, Br. Basheer Ahamed and General Secretary, Br. Abdul Rahim, Deputy General Secretary Br. Abdul Razack and Treasurer Br. Jahir Hussain along with its Founders and former Officials Br. Mohamed Farook, Br. Al-Mass Musthafa, Br. Zahiruddin and Br. Arif Maricar were present at the meeting.

TMCA Officials discussed various topics in the interest of our community welfare:

v Last week, an Indian Lady (Lakshmi), from Andhra Pradhesh State expired in a tragic road accident. As requested by her neighbours, to assist to seek the help of our Indian Embassy to transport the mortal remains back to her native, TMCA extended its helping hand to reach-out to the concerned and its process are in full swing now.

Further discussions were underwent as to the pro-longed detention of our nationals in Kuwait Jails citing two important cases for which TMCA have been approached by their relatives in India. His Excellency is kind enough to redress this issue and to find a suitable solution while continuously liasing with local authorities ensuring their well-being.

As raised earlier by our brotherly Tamil Associations to have a Tamil speaking staff at the Indian Embassy – Consular service Counters to guide and facilitate the paper work of our fellow illiterate, especially domestic workers, TMCA reverted to His Excellency as an official request, who took note of it and assured that an arrangement would be in place at the soonest possible time.

Recent Amnesty related services, right from its announcement, translating it into Tamil language which has been duly published (pdf format) in Embassy website, adding that around 4000 copies of which with an aim that it should not left-out a single Tamilian with an additional distribution of Tamil translated copies as to the Embassy announcement of providing air ticket to the needy and impoverished Indian citizens, which impressed him highly.

TMCA Officials presented him few copies of our Annual programs Souvenir, copies of DVD presentation and a brief report of our activities which he gladly noted and assured him of our best possible supportive services in the future years too for the well-being of our community. He too regarded role of all Indian Associations in Kuwait actively serving our people and looking forward to continue with greater efforts in the years to come.


TMCA has extended its invitation to His Excellency Satish C. Mehta to take part and be the Chief Guest of our Grand Iftar banquet, planning to conduct on Friday, the 19th August, 2011 which he happily accepted to felicitate.
