TMCA arranged a Blood Donation Camp

In order to honor the National Day and Independence Day of Kuwait, Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA) arranged a special blood donation camp in order to honor the National Day and Independence Day of Kuwait on 26th February 2009, 9:00 a.m at Central Blood Bank in Jabriya, Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA) and its valued members as well as the members of other associations had participated enthusiastically in the national celebrations of Kuwait and donated their bloods to express their humanitarian spirits on this auspicious occasion. The donors started to donate their blood since 8:00 a.m. The official program commenced at 9:00 a.m with Holy verses recitation by Mr. Hidayathullah, (Secretary – Education Wing), Mr. N.A.M Abdul Aleem, General Secretary welcomed all the special guests, blood donors, members and others. Special guests of Kuwait Mr. Khalid Al-Omar (Licensing Authority, Ministry of Health), Eng. Mohamed Al-Ahmed (Basic Education College, Kuwait) and Mr. Mukhtar Maroof (President, FIMA) appreciated this great effort of TMCA during their guest addresses. Mr. K. Narsing Rao, Counselor, Embassy of India was the Chief Guest and he felicitated this noble cause during his Special address. Revered Father /Joseph Albert and other Special Guests delivered the Appreciation Certificates in order to honor the Blood donors. Mr. M. Muneer Ahmed (Dy. General Secretary – TMCA) compiled and presented this wonderful program and delivered the vote of thanks. Around 130 members donated their bloods with more interest including the TMCA office bearers and FIMA president. Number of prominent personalities were adorned this great occasion including Mr. Chetti, Oriental Restaurant, Mr. Balakrishnan, Finance Manger, Shiek Flimingo Hotel and many other dignitaries. The Central Blood Bank Authority appreciated TMCA's activities and presented a special memento to TMCA administration from the Blood Bank Administration. The special meal pack of Juices, Waters, Cakes and Fruits were delivered to all the donors. TMCA expressing a sincere gratitude for all the donors, and guests also for the Al-Yasra Food Company for their special contributions in this camp.

Karaikal Biq Mosque

Muslim festivals, the Kandoori festival in the Karaikal durgha is the most important. The festival is celebrated in honour of Syed Dawood, the muslim saint born at Bukkara, the capital of Turkistan. He came to India in search of his spiritual guide Halareth Syed Ahamed Kalkhel Diwan Oliulla of Trichirapalli, spent his last years in Karaikal and passed away on 24-02-1829 (i.e 1244 of the Muslim era) at the ripe age of 120 years. The body was entombed in the durgha at Karaikal where the annual Kandoori festival is celebrated. The festival which is marked by processions, music and dance is brought to a finale with an elaborate display of fire-works.

Karaikal Church

The church of Our Lady of Angels built in 1891 is the chief place of worship for catholics in the town. The tettaravu madha festival is celebrated on the 15 of August every year. The festival commences with the flag hoisting ceremony on the 6 th August. On the 10th day, the statue of the Blessed Virgin, mounted on a beautifully decorated car, is taken out in procession along the main streets surrounding the church.

Karaikal Ammaiyar Temple

There is a small but beautiful temple in the heart of the town for KARAIKAL AMMAIYAR, the only woman out of the 63 Nayanmars. 'Mangani' festival is celeberated every year during the month of June-July ie. the day of full moon falls on 'Aani, a tamil month.

The Cheque for a Fund amount of Rs.83,154/- (Rupees Eighty three thousand one hundred and fifty four), collected by Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association in Kuwait for the family welfare of Mr. HAJA KUTHBUDEEN (age 28/06) of Nagore, who died in Kuwait, given on13th March 2006 to Mrs. UMMU SALMA NATCHIAR, wife of the deceased, by Mr. M.G.K. Nijamudeen, LL.B., Ex. M.L.A., President of Nagore Muslim Jamaath, in the presence of Janab S.M.ARIF MARICAR of Karaikal, Executive member of TMCA, Kuwait and before the executives of Nagore Jamath. Janab M. Salih Maraicar, father of the deceased, Janab S. Haja Alaudin (Shet), brother of the deceased and A. Tajudin, brother of Ummu Salma Natchiar, were also present at the occasion.
